Recording Details: This piece posits the acoustic beats that are generated by a piano as a rhythmic pulse for the other instruments. The listener is invited to contrast the pulse that they perceive with those that the string players project. This piece was first presented in Cambridge MA on the occasion of my graduation from the New England Conservatory for my good friend and mentor Holly Grinnell at a concert presented in her home.
